All about the CRAB
|
What is a crab A crab has a very broad body, eyes spread apart, and it also has five pairs of legs. Crabs are normally found on the shore of beaches, especially in the tropics. Some crabs have even adapted to living life on the land. Crabs are considered omnivores, but their main source of food would be algae. Some crabs also eat dead animals and are seen as scavengers. There are some species of crabs that walk forward, but for the most part being that their legs are attached to the sides of the body and their joints do not bend forward most crabs walk sideways.

Crab nervous system Crabs have a condensed central nervous system consisting of several ganglia. The crab contains a brain located in the head attached to the body. It also has a circumoesophageal connective which links the brain and the thoracic ganglia. Attached to the Thoracic ganglia would be the peripheral nerve roots, which are connected directly to the legs of the crab.
